After a HUGE amount of deliberation, changing of mind and much head scratching, I've decided to put Snoopy up for sale and replace him with something else
I'm posting on a couple of forums before he goes on eBay in case any 'proper' enthusiasts are interested, cos I'd prefer him to go to a loving new home.
Anyone seriously interested - make me an offer for him. He's a tremendous offroader and I've barely ever been beaten by even the most extreme of stuff in the worst of conditions. Bought as a standard Paj and lovingly modified by me (with help)
Here's the spec and an honest list of known problems that can be easily sorted by someone mechanically minded with the time and right tools...
1994 2.8 TDI SWB Pajero, White over SilverDiesel, automatic
Mileage - to follow (a bit over 100,000 miles)
Winter pack (2 batteries, heated windscreen, heated mirrors, 1” factory body lift)
Locking centre diff and rear LSD
All the usual fab Mitsi gadgets and accessories these come with
Mods and stuff:Privacy tinted rear windows
Lots of stickers & pink painted bits (can remove stickers if wanted)
2” body lift (on top of factory lift)
2” suspension lift
Pro Comp ES9000 Shocks all round
Pro Comp Steering Dampener
Desert Fox HD torsion bars
HD rear springs
Cut down bump stops
Removed front ARB
Cobra Cat 1 Alarm & Immobiliser (incl installation certificate for insurance)
Chrome front grille
Roof light pod – custom painted in white Mitsubishi paint to match exact, wired through roof - fully waterproofed and all working fine
Safari snorkel with slightly damaged top, but it's fine
Ripspeed Stereo/CD player with USB slot, memory card slot and Ipod connection (have a remote control for it somewhere)
4 x white multi function strobe lights in front grille with control box in dash
Momo wood/leather steering wheel
Lockwood silver dial kit
5 x Maxxis Mudzilla’s 33 x 13.5 x 15 MT's - two rears brand new only covered about 100 miles and cost £350
15 x 8 black modular steel rims (x5)
32mm wheel spacers
Locking wheel nuts
4 x front spots lights (2 fog, 2 driving lamps) - not working, only new bulbs needed I think
Black bull bar (not fitted)
Side steel rock sliders (currently painted pink)
Upgraded radiator
Removed EGR
Refurbed injectors
Replacement head & gaskets
Replacement water pump
Replacement intercooler
New alternator
Replacement rear brake calliper
Brake pads replaced regularly, 2 replacement discs fitted
Regular servicing – oil, filters, fluids etc.
New windscreen
2 x brand new HD batteries
MOT expires June 26th
Taxed till end September
The bad stuff I know of:Doesn't currently start - starter motor is coming off soon and being replaced so hopefully that will cure it
Needs these bushes doing for MOT - front upper suspension arm (both sides), rear trailing arm (both sides), N/S/R upper ARB linkage
Tracking needs doing
Slight oil leak from EGR and escaping exhaust gasses when engine hot - but I'm told it's nothing major
Fuel pump timing needs sorting - smokes on start up and when engine under load. Fine when cruising and passes MOT emissions ok. Idle is a little faster than should be by about 100rpm
Rear seat backs scuffed and minor tears in vinyl in places from waffle boards and offroading recovery gear in the boot (gear not included).
Bodywork damage – wheel arches badly scratched, two minor dents in body, paint scratching but overall very good condition
Radiator needs cleaning to remove dirt
Exhaust tailpipe rusty – has passed MOT last 2 years ok
4WD system works fine but dash lights flash in 2WD (have an override switch fitted in engine bay to stop flashing, but I don't use it)
Passenger window switch doesn't match due to replacement
Glove box lock stuck locked
Drivers seat needs fixing - but is ok to drive
Front bumper corner broke off during offroading, re-fitted but currently has a cable tie around one of the top fixings. Can easily be replaced with bits from breakers
CB and aerial not included but will leave external PA speaker in the engine bay and wired through ready to connect to new rig
He is built as an offroader and thus has been offroaded, as most people know, but has also been loved more than most human beings in my life! Always washed and polished after any offroading event so paintwork is pretty good considering. Interior is also kept clean and tidy. Was also used as my daily commuter for 3 years so he's pretty good given his size.
Will take some proper pics over the weekend, but here's some for now in case you're not familiar with him...
